Relationships can often be really difficult leading us to feel stressed, depressed, anxious or lonely. Finding relationships, being in them, losing them or them ending are all in the mix. Whether you're struggling with family, partners, friends or colleagues, understanding yourself in relationships and how you relate to others will help to change your relationships.
About me and my practice
Sessions with me are about exploring, thinking and understanding your relationships, to help us find new perspectives and new ways of being in relationships.
Existential ideas help us to explore meaning, choice, freedom, responsibility and authenticity, providing us with a map to help us navigate our way through.
I'm also interested in how your past relationships and experiences of loss have shaped you and are influencing you in the present.
I provide short-term and longer-term/open-ended sessions.
Experience
I've been working as a therapist since 2014,in organisations and in private practice. I'm also registered with several EAP's(Employee Assistance Programmes) providing time-limited therapy for company employees.
Before becoming a therapist, I worked in the charity sector for twelve years as a support worker, working in the women's sector with women experiencing domestic abuse, people who were homeless, people with mental health issues and people with addictions, in particular, drugs, alcohol and gambling.

Initial Consultation
Feel free to email me with any questions you may have to help you decide whether I'm the right therapist for you, then we can arrange a first session.
Our first session will give us both an opportunity to meet and for you to tell me more about yourself, what has prompted you to come to therapy now and what you're hoping to gain from sessions.
I will ask you questions about your upbringing, your family and your relationships, which will help me to understand you and your experiences and help me to put your difficulties into context. You can also ask me any questions about how I work and I will tell you how think I can help you.
Towards the end of the session, we will decide if we want to continue working together or if you'd prefer to have some time to think about it, you're welcome to do so and contact me later with your decision.
